Operation: Cheese State Invasion

Friday evening, I picked up Moose from daycare, and we headed off to Wisconsin. We left after dinner around 6 PM, and we arrived up at the farm around 3 AM. It was a late night. Cory drove the whole way.
We both were getting extremely tired around 1 AM or so, and had just talked about stopping for gas so we could get out and wake up a bit, when the car in front of us lost control and went into the median dividing up the highway. We were both going about 70 MPH and it was really scary. The car kept driving in the median, trying to regain control, bouncing around like a derby car. They were heading directly for a cement post that was holding up an overpass, but at the last second, they missed it, finally stopping a few feet away from it. Watching that woke both Cory and I up to an extreme point. We both had so much adrenaline pumping through our veins that we even had trouble getting to sleep hours later!

When we got to the farm, we set up Moose's Pack-N-Play and headed off to sleep. I ended up getting up with Moose just a few hours later around 7 AM. So Moose and I had a very long Saturday.
Uncle Matt hosted an Open House at his house on Saturday so we could get to see our family members that we missed at Christmas. We had a great time!

Here's Uncle Matt and Moose
Here is Savannah playing with Moose.
Here they are hugging, thought this was pretty cute.

Here is Aslan, Alaina's little girl, G'ma, and Moose.
After the Open House, Moose and I headed home for nap time, and Cory stayed behind to chat it up with his family.
While I was waiting for them to come home, I found this gem in G'ma's CD collection.
That's right, it's Air Supply's Christmas Collection.
Later that night, we met Kyle, Vicki, Em, & Jake at Pizza Hut for delish Badger Pizza, and Taco Pizza. I headed home after dinner, but Cory hit a few bars with the guys, and met up with some old high school friends.

Sunday we had our long awaited Christmas. Moose got a ton of really cool toys, including a toy plane that is a Little People Toy, apparently Cory had one when he was a kid too. Jake got him a cool Leggo Tool Set, Em got him a super-awesome winter hat that you will definitely see pictures of soon. And Kyle and Vicki got him some cool fireman stuff, including a Micky Mouse raincoat that looks like a fireman's coat. (Kyle is a fireman for Monroe, so is Jake for that matter) The raincoat is a little big, so it will be a little while before you see pics of that.

G'ma taught Moose to CLAP!! It is so cute, I can't catch it on camera yet, hopefully soon. I was really happy we got to have a "first" with G'ma in Wisconsin.

Later that evening, we headed home. It makes for a long night when we drive at night, but it is so much easier than dealing with entertaining Moose in the car, and having to stop to feed him and such. It is a lot easier if we just drive while he sleeps.
He was such a good boy all weekend, letting everyone in the family hold him, and play with him, I was really proud of him.
I was actually off work today, and so was Cory so this morning I took Moose to daycare to see his friends so we could sleep and recover from the drive. It will be at least Spring before we drive back up. The freezing rain we encountered on the way home was a little scary for me. We left Wisconsin and it felt like it was about zero degrees outside, and it was sleeting rain. We arrived home, and it was fifty nine degrees! A big change!
We had a great time, and it was fun to see the whole family.

It was a fun weekend! Wes is just so adorable, cute, precious, fun, etc. etc.... The time went way too fast! I am very lonesome already and can hardly wait for the next visit.

And - Air Supply isn't so bad! Try listening - you may enjoy them too!

Love you all!

Be... erm, nice. My fragile ego can't take too much honesty. Seriously though, I do love comments. Please tell me what you think!
