The New House!

I know you all have been wanting to see photos of the new house, so here you go! A lot of you are familiar with this house, since it's been in the family for a few decades, but it does look pretty different with all of our stuff in it;)
Here's the front of the house, complete with the Brooks Family Fleet of Vehicles out front.
Here is a shot of our nice quiet little court. I've only talked to one of our neighbors, they were standing at their door when we were moving in, and I waved and they waved, and then they shut the door. Sooo, we've not made any life-long friends yet.
Here's the living room. Obviously a work in progress. Our furniture is not in yet, so we are waiting on it to come in from the factory. Should be in this coming week. The chair is the same design as the sectional couch. The brown leather didn't photograph well, it's a rich brown, and the tan is a soft suede.

Until our furniture comes in, we are classin' up the joint with our fabulous cooler end table. Notice the wheels on the cooler, we spare not expense in this household.
An outside view of the living room, showing the windows, we need to replace the blinds.

The dining room. Pretty much done, everything's hung and fits nicely.
My new kitchen. Cici had a grape theme, so it goes well with my italian theme until we repaint.
Here's the other side of the kitchen.
Here's the master bath. We are totally renovating this next spring with our tax return. We have been pouring over bathroom books and tiles at Lowe's, our new second home.

Here's our bedroom. Again, pretty much done, the color is perfect and matches our linens and the bedroom furniture.
Here's the other side, showing our double closets.
Here's the entrance way. Notice my new bench that I totally put together by myself, using a cordless drill!! Well, Cory actually helped me a little at the end.
Here's the downstairs bath. They just redid it before they moved. We just need a shower curtain, and we plan to paint it eventually. It's yellow with a red ceiling.

Here's Cory's new office which he has worked tirelessly all week to fix up.

Here is the family room downstairs. We have a great new gas fireplace. We are planing on putting up drywall, and our new olive colored carpet is "on order". Scout's butt says hi.

Here's our new backyard. We have a nice cement patio that's surrounded by grass and big trees.

Here's the landscaped area in the backyard, which I am looking foward to planting a bit next spring.

Here's the back of the house. We are planning on re-siding the house soon, and I think we'll keep the tan color, but I think I want to switch the navy shutters to burgandy, but that's under discussion.

We're very settled into our nice home. Everyone's settled down a bit. The cats were crazy for the first couple days, but they are better, they are still hiding under the bed though. Scout has been fine the whole time, she loves the backyard and has made friends with the fluffy white dog next door, they run laps together. Wesley has been perfectly fine. My mom kept him the night befored we moved so that we could finish packing, and take his crib down. So our first night, I went and picked him up so we could all stay together the first night. After we fed him some dinner, he went right to sleep in his crib. We did use his old sheet, so it would smell like "his" crib. He slept all night, and got up earlier the next day. I have been working to have a baby-proofed area in the house so he can "room free" without me having to constantly watch him. We have pretty much achieved that, well, we will after the tree is down. He really likes the present's bows, and likes to rip them, and the present's tags too.
All in all, we are very happy in our new home, and we can't wait to have you all over for a visit!
Love to all, and hope you have a good holiday! -L

Looks fabulous, of course. I know you are looking forward to your new furniture. It WILL be hard to give up your wonderful cooler end table, though. I noticed you have a baby gate blocking the hallway - that was smart. I'm sure it was easier to fit that space than the top of the stairs. You have lots of projects to look forward to!

Liz, your new house looks great! All the space, the yard, the nice big trees in the neighborhood! You all are going to be very happy there; I can tell. Now, if you could just buy some toys for that boy of yours!

Be... erm, nice. My fragile ego can't take too much honesty. Seriously though, I do love comments. Please tell me what you think!
