Doing the dirty work

We are alive and well at the Bee Family. I just took a small vacation from writing and posting. Things have been a smidgen busy around these parts due to my self-placed deadline of the home improvement I have been working on. I have lots to share, and I really should be devoting a post to each one of these tidbits, but I need to get back to painting so you are going to get some down and dirty bullets instead.
  1. First and most important, Moose started Pre-School on Monday. I KNOW! I couldn’t believe it when they told me he would be moving up last week. Of course the entire week he visited the new class, he had accidents each day as if to show he wasn’t ready to move. We moved him anyway. So the light at the end of the potty training tunnel that we seemed to be arriving at, has moved farther away. The break my washing machine wanted is no where near. I am not entirely sure why he is having so many accidents again, especially since I am doing my part at home with as many bribes as possible. I have nice new Curious George book just waiting to be given to him if he has no accidents for a day in Pre-School. Sigh. It is still on the counter.
  2. Secondly and probably most annoying, about three weeks ago Moose developed what I try to call a “new attitude” which translates into “demon spawn from Hell”. This new attitude has come complete with pitch fork and screaming tantrums. I have held my ground, initiated time outs when needed, and occasionally cried in the corner. We seem to be rounding that bend, but there are more around the corner I am sure. He has been fine today, but had a small melt down when I told him it was time for lunch and we were coming inside. It didn’t last as long as the ones last weekend and the weekend before. And before any of you bring it up, it actually started before the big Pre-School move.
  3. Thirdly and I am so freakishly excited about this, we are having a pumpkin painting party for Moose in two weeks. It is not for his birthday (even though that is four weeks away) it is just for fun. I have invited a few of his school friends and two of our outside friends to come over. They are bringing their pumpkins, and I am planning on having paint and food and stuff. I sent out invitations on Wednesday. No RSVPs yet, except for A’s mom who stopped me in the school hallway to tell me they would be there. SO-one friend has RSVPd, and I am pretty sure at least three others will come. I have a small fear that no one will come and it will be Cory and I with Moose all alone in the back yard. Hopefully that won’t happen. Hopefully plenty of kids will come (uh, not too many) the weather will be nice and cool (uh, not too cold or hot) and they will have fun.
  4. Fourthly the home improvement, most of you know I am working on my kitchen and a discreet few of you know details, but even fewer of you have actually seen any of the progress! I am taking pictures never fear. However-I want it to be all complete when I put the pictures up for you guys. The new furniture is on order and should be here next week (does that peak your interest? good!) And my deadline of completing the whole darn thing by the pumpkin party is looking more doable by the day.
There’s a a ton more, but I’m hoping to get back on my schedule-recipe on Sunday, blog on Wednesday, and pictures on Friday. I’ve tried two recipes that were not post-worthy for my What’s Cooking Section, but I have tried one that is so good I can’t wait to post!

Be... erm, nice. My fragile ego can't take too much honesty. Seriously though, I do love comments. Please tell me what you think!
