So some of you remember last Christmas, when Moose contracted croup for the first time. Not a good time was had by any. It was pretty heart-wrenching to hear his little cough, and he was just so pitiful.
The second it turns a bit cold down here, you can bet Moose will get an ear infection. It turned cold two weeks ago. Where do you think we had to go on Thursday?
Right. Well, not only do we have an ear infection, it is a double ear infection. And? The cold developed into croup.
Does everyone remember the huge pumpkin party that is less than 24 hours away? Right.
So it’s actually not too bad. Except when he sleeps (when I sleep) or during nap time (when I actually get stuff done). He is fine if not a bit whiney, and hey, that’s not to different from normal lately with our recent tantrum troubles.
We’ve had to go to the doctor twice, which is double annoying. We went on Thursday morning and got the diagnosis, then ended up going back Friday when he seemed to be having breathing trouble. Turns out it was croup stridor which is raspy heavy breathing and that equals mommy freaks out and thinks child has pulmonary edema (which I have actually had, and I know how scary it is). So when Moose was gasping for breath, looking at me with huge scared eyes, and managed to say “mommy, it hurts” we immediately headed back to the doctor.
So we are on the usual pink stuff, and a new steroid for the croup stridor. We just put him to bed so I’m hoping this night will be a bit less eventful than last.
Big shout out to the large branch of my family that is attending my aunt’s wedding in California. It looks like my Mom will be reporting regularly on her site, so check back there for more details.
C&C-sorry we couldn’t make it! With travel costs and no vacation times from work, it wasn’t feasible. (and let’s all say a big thanks for not having a croupy baby in the middle of your wedding-yes?) Happy thoughts and big love going to the West Coast, congrats ladies!

Be... erm, nice. My fragile ego can't take too much honesty. Seriously though, I do love comments. Please tell me what you think!
