We were in EB at the mall, and Cory was buying another game for his Xbox, and the guy told him to pre-order Halo3 because they might run out, and that way we were guaranteed a copy. I had to talk Cory back from the Collector's Edition which included a real-life-sized Master Chief (the hero) helmet (see box picture). Real. Life. Sized. Helmet. On display in my living room?
I think not.
Only when Cory found out the helmet was just for show, and you couldn't actually "put it on" did he decide he didn't need the Collector's Edition.
So we just got the special edition, which included some posters and stuff. Then, they announced a special edition Xbox which of course we had to have too. I fought that every step of the way, I mean, we had a perfectly fine Xbox! But Dad agreeing to take Cory's old one sealed the deal.
Of course, the Tuesday release date of Halo3 has coincided with Fox's new TV lineup this week, so Cory has been watching our normal TV, then staying up late playing Halo3.
Cory asked me to specifically mention the the "real" Master Chief is seven feet tall, and a thousand pounds, so the above picture where he is holding the toy, is not life-sized. Everybody got that? Good.

I sometimes can't believe that grown men with wives and children and everything are still such little boys with their toys. It seems to be pretty much a world wide phenomenon, so you've got plenty of company. He's not unusual.
Look at the bright side - he's home with you! Just remember - there could be worse addictions. That's what I keep telling myself with my quilting, stamping and scrapbooking - and Jerry's farming! I always know where he is and he's not out causing trouble. Life is good.....
Love you all,
Mom B
I think the whole thing is kind of funny-but I totally understand hobbies-shopping anyone??
Anyway, Cory playing Xbox gives me uninterrupted time to read!
I'm so happy for him...I guess. All this gaming stuff is just confusing for me. I'd rather read a good book anytime. But whatever makes them happy. And keeps them out of our hair. So we can read. Or shop. Or whatever.
Halo is a fun game, but I don't understand the Coors Light in the Photo. Tell Cory he is not a jobless college student and doesn't have to drink shitty beer. :)
One of Cory's friends actually left a whole case of Coor's Light at our house, so Cory has slowly been working through it!
He actually prefers-Bergoff or something I think??
I'm jealous....I want a camo 360 too.
(sigh)...guess I'll just have to settle for his old one....
Yo, Master chief - looking forward to playing some co-op with you later...
Dad

Be... erm, nice. My fragile ego can't take too much honesty. Seriously though, I do love comments. Please tell me what you think!
